Op 1 september 2011 ging Karel Oei met emeritaat nadat hij bijna twee decennia als bijzonder hoogleraar Forensische psychiatrie aan Tilburg University verbonden was geweest. Deze bundel opstellen werd ter gelegenheid van zijn emeritaat aan Karel Oei uitgereikt. De 29 bijdragen – geschreven door vakgenoten en collega’s die een vriendschappelijke band met Karel Oei hebben – vertegenwoordigen in hoge mate de uiteenlopende onderdelen van Karels werk.
